School Olympics Bring Out the SunFor the third year in a row, the SHS community marked the end of classes with an all-school olympics at JK playground. On Wednesday, a break in the weather allowed for a sunny, not-so-muddy good time to be had by all. The teams, representing countries such as Pandora, New Zealand, Kenya, Haiti, England, and other sports powerhouses, duked it out over tug of war, sponge races, hula hoop passing and catapulting tennis balls. The team representing Ireland won the trophy, marking the third year in a row that Biology Instructor Alexi Weirich played on the winning team. As the school year winds down, other traditions are taking place. Today, seniors and other performers dazzled the school with songs and poetry at closing ceremony (see slide show). The sophomores said goodbye to their PAs and met their new advisors. Faculty practiced their commencement march. All that is left are finals! Commencement is June 5 at 4 p.m. at Davies Symphony hall. A few tickets are available for alumni who wish to attend. Contact the alumni office if you'd like a ticket.  Watch the SHS Olympics slide show.
